I Just made my own fresh SALSA! Ask me anything!
But don't expect an answer soon cuz I'm going to bed now. In fact, you can just ask each other!

Anyway, it was my first try. The ingredients ran me over $10 to make a huge bowl with fresh tomatoes, onions, green onions, cilantro, jalapeños, lime juice, garlic, salt, a pinch of sugar, and cumin. It was definitely better than the average salsa, but I'm still seeking to duplicate some of the better ones I've had.

Next time, I'll try chipotle, then after that, it will be the charred pepper, then pico de gallo!

You can take the boy out of El Paso, but you can't take the El Paso out of the boy!

Good night!

2. I almost killed a good friend once.
Went out to my garden, picked some tomatoes, cilantro, green onions and jalapeños. Don't need a recipe, I figured, I'll just cut & mix it up until it looks right.

We each took a big bite, then began drinking anything and everything we could find.

Maybe my subject line should have been, "I was almost killed for making salsa."

3. The trick to a good salsa
Edited on Tue Aug-24-04 06:02 AM by drhilarius
is fire grilling your veggies, preferably over a little mesquite.

5. I tried it yesterday, too, using alton brown's recipe
I agree with whomever above said to grill the veggies---i didn't. I still think i made pico de gallo and not salsa. Wasn't crazy about it. And they were all veggies from my garden! 'cept for the onions and garlic i mean.
