A scary rumor!
A friend just told me he heard a rumor from an executive secretary at his company. The rumor is that some corporations are holding off on outsourseing until after the election. They don't want the unemployment numbers to hurt Bush! If this is true, it wouldn't surprise me!

2. Overtime probably won't change, either
unless Bush is actually elected (for the first time).

5. NPR said the exact opposite
That they are hustling up outsourcing right now, in case Kerry wins and does impose the penalties he's promised. Which makes more sense to me, since greed overcomes party affiliation, I'd think.

6. Maybe they are going to do it right after the election, but before 2005?
Who knows? It's all rumor.

8. That creates new problems
I'm in favor of stopping outsourcing, but I'm not any happier to see a poor worker in India laid off than here.

Besides which, under the current business structure a company that didn't outsource if they could risked potentially violating maximizing stock holder value. I blame the government for not doing something years ago about this. There has to be a monetary incentive to not outsource, otherwise the dual goals of profit maximization and loyalty are impossible.
