I'm so glad -- Real Player really screws up my home computer.

1. Is that why the stream cuts out all the time?
I've tried both windows media player and realplayer, and at least at the time, didn't seem any better.

2. Link?
BTW: RealPlayer 10 is a vast improvement. You can opt out of spyware and automatically adding to your startup menu (pet peeve of earlier versions). I actually like the sound of the RealPlayer format. WMP tends to sound garbled.

7. I'd upgrade to RP10
RealOne is garbage.

Besides, R1 is configured to run constantly in the background.

RP10 allows you to opt out of it. And the sound seems better.

I just wish everyone could be compatible with the best media player of all - Winamp. I love streaming mp3!

3. Really? WMV screws up mine.
The machines are so touchy....

Wish they could license quicktime. Or better... something Open Source!

9. QuickTime is good quality, terrible intrusion
Adds itself to the startup menu, just like the old RealPlayers did.

But they are great for online streaming of video. The quality is better than WMP and Real.

Unfortunately, all of these players have proprietary formats, making it necessary to have four media players on your computer: WMP, Real, QT, and Winamp (since it's the best player out there, and can be used for non-proprietary formats such as streaming MP3, MP3 playback, OGG, and CD playback).

13. The new real player works fine.
And the guy who owns Real is a big contributer to AAR, so that's 2 reasons to stick to Real.
