2. Congrats! I'm on Atkins too
I've only lost 16 lbs so far.

That's great that you've lowered your significant numbers. Have you been following Atkins religiously?

3. not religously
I cheat now and again. A beer every once in awhile or crap like rice, pasta, or potatoes when I eat at someone else's house.

4. When you gain back 50...
Just remember, its your own fault, a secret shame, a proof of your personal weakness, and has nothing to do with the fact that Dr Atkins is a fraud, liar and killer of otherwise perfectly happy people.

Hey, if your really successful, maybe you will be able to starve yourself long enough that they have to cut out your burst gallbladder.

Thats probably a long term goal though. Better to go one day at a time.

6. No need.
He is doing far more harm to himself than a the average stab wound would deliver. I think that was my point.

7. What are you basing your claims on?

There definitely are risks associated with Atkins, especially for about 33% of the population who need a fairly significant amount of carbs or else risk all sorts of health problems.

But you seem to be convinced that this guy has a guaranteed future of obesity and sickness... why?

8. I'm on this crazy diet...
Edited on Fri Jul-11-03 11:06 PM by pengpong
called eating sensably with exercize. Atkins may be good for losing weight, but seriously...don't purge your body of carbs for too long...your body needs them, it's not good for you.

On edit: spelling.

9. Great!
Enjoy the gout, heart disease, constipation, and horrible breath!

Meanwhile I did all of that, except I lost 55lbs, by going on a vegan diet. I also eliminated my asthma and haven't been sick once over the past year and a half. And I'm eating about 3 times as much as I was when I was eating animal products.

Plus, no suffering, hormones, antibiotics, or accumulated pesticides touch my plate. Kiss your own .....

Seriously though, congratulations on the weight loss and blood chemistry. The fact I feel it's a huge mistake, a big gamble on your health overall, and an irresponsible diet is only that, my feeling, my opinion. Take that as you will, and please consider a switch to a vegan diet.

10. You forgot one thing:
your colon is the strongest muscle in your body! What with the tons of fiber you eat every day!

11. My colon has been feeling rather healthy lately
Edited on Fri Jul-11-03 11:54 PM by ott
Feel the burn!

That is something I don't fear, colon cancer. I sometimes eat the processed stuff but the vast majority is colon friendly. Because, man, when you're thinking quality colon, think ott. Thank nature for beano! I don't know where I'd be without it.

Oh damn... Can you drink beer on Atkins?

12. So, you must have an
industrial strength plunger next to your toilet or do you just compost it? You could probably grow some wicked shrooms in it.

Ha, ha, ha....
