I'm in a Cat Custody battle with members of my family
We have two family cat's and I paid for my cat so I feel the he is my cat. We rescued the other cat from the streets and one of my family members feels that he is his cat.
Here's the dilemma! Both male cats hate each other and I want to take my cat with me when I move next month but my other family members don't want me to separate these two boys. They are both 2 1/2 years old and we rescued the one cat when he was around 1 year old. I have had my cat since he was about 10 weeks old and I bought him from a breeder.
I am taking my cat but I might have to go to court to get custody of him and I don't know what to do.
Should I just leave them in the home that they are accustomed to and get several more cats from the pound or take my guy with and adopt a female kitten as a friend for him?
My sister wants one of the cats but she is not going to leave with either one of them because I would have to die first.
Cats are often attached to their environment. However, if the cat is extremely attached to you - then he/she may be happier with you.
I've had cats that didn't seem to get along and fought a lot but when one got lost the other one moped around and was all depressed. When the lost cat came back, the other one perked right back up.
Although I must admit he always wished we would move back to Mom's and would jump into the carrier to go visit Mom's, but would have to be wrestled into it to leave.
you paid for him. Let him get used to the new environment before getting a pal. Any chance of getting the same breed? It seems that Siamese often don't get along with other breeds. (I don't know if yours is a Siamese).
I started looking on Persian rescue websites and they have 3 kittens from the same litter that are 6 months old that they rescued from a breeder but I have no way of picking them up.
My other cat looks like a Norwegian Forrest Cat and I think that he would get along with another cat from any breed because he is a good cat.
