Um, I like that my nose isn't stuffed, and I like that my eyes aren't watering, but I don't particularly enjoy that I'm all of a sudden wailing "UNDERNEATH IT ALL" and "ANOTHER BLUE'S CLUES DAY"--er, I don't do that everyday. Any other allergy sufferers taking something that doesn't space them out?

I can't get Allegra, my insurance doesn't cover it.
Should I stick with Sudafed and ibuprofen?

on edit:
YOU REALLY LOVE ME, UNDERNEATH IT ALL
I'M REALLY LUCKYYYYYYYYYY

1. Claritin D?
I bet you're taking Claritin D, which contains a decongestant that does make you sleepy. The regular Claritin doesn't have anything in it that should causes side effects. BTW, I took Claritin for years for my annual Spring allergy, but switched last year to Allegra because of insurance considerations, and the Allegra didn't work. I'll pay the extra and go back to plain old Claritin this year.

2. Yes! I am!

So regular Claritin doesn't do this?

Ugh, what a waste of 20 bucks. I wasn't sure if I needed Claritin-D or not (I did need a decongestant), and both said non-drowsy! :grr:

I guess I'll go out and buy regular Claritin tomorrow...sigh.
Thank you for the heads up, I certainly can't keep taking this stuff. I feel loopy. Oy.

3. Claratin is what keeps Canadians happy.
It's cheap, and basically uncontrolled. It's not even over-the-counter, it's right on the shelves next to the aspirin and the 222s!

4. Does it keep them happy, or *happy*?

Because I'm in a drug-induced stupor, I'm not sure if you're saying that Claritin makes you drug loopy happy, or just, no more allergies, I can drive and act normal happy.

Forgive the brain deficiency.

5. just plain Claritin seems remarkably good without sideeffects.
Once when my allergy was overwhelming the Claritin, I asked a friend who is a doctor who has allergy worse than I do, but who is not an allergist, himself, ... if there is something better than Claritin.

He said no, and that when a Claritin doesn't do the job, he takes more than one claritin a day.

So when a Claritin seems to not be working, I just take the next Claritin earlier than 24 hours, say 15-18 hours after the first one, as needed. It works.

6. And you can drive, go about your business?

I can't believe I took the wrong Claritin. Had a 50/50 chance of getting it right, and I blew it (and 20 bucks, too!).

Ah well, I guess I'll just ride it out...at least the Claritin-D only lasts for 12 hours. Only 9 more to go!
