Muslim? Moslem? Which is correct? And...
is it pronounced "MUZ-lim" or "Mooze-lim" or "MUSS-lim" or "Moz-lim"? Are they interchangable? Or is one a noun and one an adjective? I only ask because I hear that mispronouncing it is considered an insult. Just like "AYE-RABS" is offending to "Air-ubs".

1. Mos-lim is definitely wrong
I've heard it's an insulting word when pronounced that way. Mus-lim I believe is correct.

"muslim" is the more common spelling. I believe the phonetics go "MUZ-lim"Such a simple language, English, the native Spanish speaker said smugly ;-)

3. Moslem is no longer PC
When pronounced "mawzlem," it sounds the same as a rug or an ottoman or something, I can't remember. However, my Arabic grandmother says "Ay-rab" all the time. Drives me nuts.
