Grand Funk Railroad 2004: Not as Grand, not as Funky, no Mark Farner
Grand Funk without Mark Farner isn't exactly Grand Funk, but they're still making a substantial profit touring without him.

Live photos from Hallandale, FL, March 27, 2004

Mel Schacher, bass (original member)

Don Brewer, drums (original member, original lead vocals on "We're An American Band")

Mark Farner "replacement" Max Carl (left, formerly with 38 Special, Jack Mack and the Heart Attack, Max Carl and Big Dance), ex-Kiss guitarist and gunshot survivor Bruce Kulick

Keyboardist Tim Cashion (ex-Bob Seger and Robert Palmer)

2. "The adequate drumming of Don Brewer"
Great Simpsons line with Homer reminiscing about his rockin' youth and the magnificence of Grand Funk Railroad (paraphrasing):

"The screaming lead guitar of Mark Farner, the thundering bass of Mel Schacher, the adequate drumming of Don Brewer..."

Apologize if I'm misquoting, but the mind adjusts these things over time...

3. Yeah, one of the best Simpsons quotes EVER.
The other line from that episode that killed me (and I'm not quoting exactly either) was "I used to rock and roll ev-ery night, and party ev-ery day. Then it was every other day. Now I'm lucky if I can find a couple of hours each week in which to get funky."

:toast:
