A couple questions about multiprocessor computers
After a recent reformat and install of the OS again, I've found that my CPUs seem to be not balancing well. One goes up to 100% when being used, and the other sits around 20%. Before, at max, they would go up to 50%/50%, and it seemed to also keep them cooled better that way. My original question was going to be, "is there a setting i need to do to get it to do this right, that would have been lost when I reinstalled Windows". Then I was looking around online, and saw that WinXP Home doesn't support dual-CPUs, only WinXP Pro does. What does this mean? Until this reinstall, it seemed to be supporting splitting the work between them just fine. So I guess those are two questions.

1. well , xp home supports hyperthreading,
but not full on multiprocessor capability. Full multiproc allows you to control each proc individually. You can't dictate hyperthreading; all it does is spread out certain functions so they run in parallel, instead of one at a time.
and you'll need a patch to get your procs back up to speed.
