Poll question: Favorite 1970's record producer
Like elperromagico's poll, this is mainly a pop list. Use the "Other" option for its intended purpose.

6. David Bowie
Stooges Raw Power and Iggy's solo work
Lou Reed Transformer and Berlin
Mott the Hoople's All the Young Dudes

don't care much about Bowie hisself, but some big time records there.

9. You didn't list Richard Perry
A bit more pop-oriented than some you listed, but great stuff nonetheless (Carly Simon, Ringo Starr, Pointer Sisters)

10. There are several worthies I didn't have room to list.
For instance: Roy Thomas Baker, Nick Lowe, and of course Todd Rundgren.

16. Nick Lowe!
In the 70's he produced Graham Parker & the Rumour, Elvis Costello, Dave Edmunds & The Pretenders ("Stop Your Sobbing"). Plus himself.

And he's got a website that reveals he's playing in San Francisco this weekend. On Saturday, the gig is the "Strictly Bluegrass Festival"--with Steve Earle also on the bill. (Guess they define "strictly" differently in San Francisco.)
