Anyone else remember the good old days of cynical humor from National Lampoon? Priceless!
I wish that I had my old issues.

At the time, it was funny.

they also had a quote from William Randolph Hearst that said "Show me a magazine cover with a pretty girl, a baby and a dog, and I'll show you a magazine that sells."


The saccharine-styled illustration that accompanied it showed a baby in a high chair clapping delightedly as a pretty young mom pulled a roasted dead dog with an apple in its mouth from the oven....

I actually found a stack of my old Lampoons in my mom's attic a few years ago. Reminded me once again why i worship the late Michael O'Donoghue (as if I really needed reminding)

the 70's are a little nebulous to me, there were some fine street pharmaceuticals around at the time. National Lampoon was one of my mainstays in those days, never missed an issue.

What a classic! "Sung" in a Foto Funny by a very large breasted blonde in a boxing outfit, sans the shirt. I subscribed when I was 15...National Lampoon was VERY influential in the development of my sense of humor. Remember the Wife Tasting? Fine varietal wives of California? Oh man, another classic!
