Fresh-baked bread in 45 minutes.
Just put a loaf in the oven. Check back for a fresh, hot slice.

2. Half whole wheat, half white flour
Whole wheat for the flavor and nutrition, white for the loft and texture.

6. As much as I like bread
I'd trade it for a steak anyway. I LOVE red meat with a passion that defies expression. I have daydreams about meat. I think it's something with my blood type, or so I've heard.

and I'd probably ditch the bread for a good cut of meat meticulously grilled. But--sigh--I would prefer to have both. Fresh-baked! Mmmm!

13. Singer Tom Waits on the subject of red meat and hunger:
"I'm so damn hungry I could eat the hind end out of a hobby horse." Now THAT'S a carnivore.

5. What I mean is after you made the dough?
Or 45 minutes from start to finish?

7. After I made the dough.
Brief prep time, a first 1-hour rising, a second 45-minute rising, 45 minutes baking. Breadbaking sounds long and time-consuming but most of the time is spent ignoring it and doing something else.
