I met a real 'Swiftie" on Saturday-----------
His name is Gene Thorson, a Vietnam veteran, and he was an engine man, and petty officer 2nd class, on John Kerry's second boat, PCF 94. He spoke at the Democratic headquarters in Manitowoc, Wi, and said that, as a Commander, Kerry was "hell on wheels", and could make these quick decisions, that had to be made in wartime.
It was a very stirring account from a "real swiftie", who was there to see it happen, not some tripe from dis-grunted wannabes, who are probably jealous that they weren't put up for decorations or awards.
My hat's off to Gene, and the other "real Swifties".
