Anyone read Kristen Gore's book?

I'm a HUGE (HUGE) Futurama fan, and she was a writer for the show and seemed to have a really great sense of humor.

I am, however, an incredibly slow reader, so I don't pick up novels very often. Has anyone out there had a chance to read the book yet? Any good?

3. yes, it's pretty good

Considering this is her first novel, I also think she had way too much fun writing it (whatever happened to anguished toil and sweating blood on the rewrites?)! The thinly-veiled digs at Bush (a.k.a. "President Pile") are hysterical. My parents and I are trying to decide which bits are based on Gore family "in" jokes, and which are general observations from her years in Washington.

I'm an only child, and given that the author grew up in a large family, it's apparent that she did some research for her character, rather than trying to make the situation fit her preconceptions.

I suspect that she split her father's persona into two characters (the dad, and the sometimes-intimidating senator in the story).
