No... better than good, they are great. But even great doesn't quite capture it.

What palindrome named groups can you think of?

2. You're thinking of Abba, but I'm not going there.
"Satan, Oscillate my Metallic Sonatas" is a great album title, though.

There was a great neo-progressive group from Ohio called "OHO" in the mid-seventies. And then there's X.....

3. Well, ABBA, for one.
That's all I can think of.

But the Grateful Dead had an album called "Aoxomoxoa," which is a pallindrome!

5. Död
They're a Swedish black metal band. Based on the MP3s available at their official site, they sound totally generic.

6. Oxo!
"Whirly Girl" is certainly one of the underrated hits of the 80s.

ABBA suck more ass than Rock Hudson in a Castro Street bathhouse circa 1972.

16. I actually HAVE heard Emily Sassy Lime!
Three teenage girls in the mid-'90s playing lo-fi punk rock in the vein of Bikini Kill or Bratmobile and were signed to the Kill Rock Stars label. Not bad if you like that kind of music.

19. Actually, if you want to get technical,
it was A-ha. Only 1 H. But still a palindrome.

15. Darn, that drives me crazy, can't remember their name....
Back in the late 70s I saw Blue Oyster Cult and the backup band had a name that was a palindrome I think....

I do remember that their band name logo was designed so that you could turn it upside down and it would read the same as right-side up. That's not a palindrome I know, but I think their name actually was also a palindrome also; or maybe it wasn't...can't remember.

This is driving me nutty. I hate it when you have a word on the tip of your tongue.

Anyway, they had the silliest Spinal Tap type opening to their show where as mists rolled in a deep voice over a wispy synthesizer told of the "legend" of the band as the road crew stacked boxes that had lights on the edges and when the boxes were fully stacked an interior light came on illuminating the band member inside...ooohhh magic, and then the band members boxes opened and they jumped out and began playing completely forgettable music.

17. Well... What Can You Form From The Letters B,C,D,E,H,I,K,O,X
Those are the only ones that I know of that retain their shape when mirrored or flipped vertically.
