Try playing Utopia sometime. It may be the best lesson in politics you'll ever receive.

2. Other: Paper, pencil, die and counters.
There's just something to board and tabletop games that computer games can't match. I love computer games, frankly I play them TOO much. But real games with real people are just plain better.

But, if I had to choose, I'd choose RTS.

3. Hell yeah! I'll NEVER put the dice away!
Part of the fun of any RPG is interacting with other people. Yeah yeah, you can do that over the internet, but it's not the same as having a few buds over, cracking a beer, and going down into the caves to fsck up the Goblin King who stole the king's gold.

6. Turn-based.
RTSes always come down to whoever can click the mouse fastest. Where's the glory in that?

8. depends on your RTS
Warcraft 3 had a very boring multiplayer because it was just who ever clicked faster won. Any of the Total War games though will blow away any turned based game espically Rome Total War.

Heroes 3 and civilization 2 are my favorite turn based games. I love them all I don't really know what I love more!

9. OK, I make an exception for Total War
...but since you can pause TW, and issue orders when the game is paused, it's really a turn-based game. It's just that it's up to you how long the turns are.

M:TW rocks my world.

7. RTS
Still have an affection for Dune II. I still think it was the best realtime simulation out there-most satisfying IMO.
