good one

actually, I am very much opposed to "crunching" or stealing signs - I just give them the finger.

8. I know
it just seemed sort of funny and sad at the same time. It's the only yard sign in the immediate neighborhood. Everybody else has stickers. I see more Kerry-Edwards than Bush-Cheney, all over town. Then again, I don't want to see the other ones.

I keep thinking it would be fun to get some of those Moron-Psycho stickers and go around putting them over the top of Bush-Cheney stickers. But I would never do that!

4. Someone (or something) did the same to my
neighbor's Kerry/Edwards sign, and they put it back up, all crunched too. I say "or something, because it looked more like it hadn't been attached properly and didn't stand up to the wind/rain we've been having lately. It was totally off the wire supports, while other Dem yardsigns were still up.

5. The people who live on the backside of my block ...
have a B*/C sign in their yard. It looks mangled, but it's still there. Since nobody's messed with any signs for either side in my neighborhood, I have come to the conclusion that they take it in and sleep with it at night, like a teddy bear, perhaps while sucking their thumbs because they're 'fraid of them terrists' and then take it back out in the mornings. I can think of no other reason their sign is mangled -- nobody else's Bush*, Kerry or local Dem or Gooper sign has been messed with, and probably won't be until Halloween.

I don't know about them, but we have a couple of Kerry-Edwards signs we ordered off the website after we procured the sign we currently have (thanks to Kukesa, a fellow DUer in the area who had a spare). If the high school kids go wild on Beggar's Night, and start trampling signs, we'll be able to put up another the next day.

I don't know if B*/C supporters expect vandalism. I think they're so full of hubris they think Bush* is so popular nobody would dare. High school kids don't care about politics on Halloween, though -- they'll mangle anything that catches their attention. We're ready for that, if it happens.

9. They had a Bush/Cheney sign?
Isn't that a sign of Alzheimers? You should put them in a home before they wander off!

11. Why did they put it back up?
I can se why they would be tempted to beautify thier neighborhood (although I would never in a million years tear down one of the signs of my guntoting redneck neighbors), but if you are going to destroy it why not just put it into the trash where it belongs?

13. It was probably a freeper who couldn't read.
Regardless of the culprit's politics, it sucks.

It'd show true class if some Democrat replaced the sign for the guy.

15. I ran over someones sign and when he put it back up I took it....
but it was on public land, at a fork in the road. Shortly after it was placed there someone put a Kerry/Edwards sign up and it was gone the next day. So I peeled out on the Bush sign. The next day another Kerry sign was up, and the ripped up Bush sign. The day after that, the Kerry sign was gone again, so I just took the damned Bush sign. No Bush sign since.

Funny thing is whoever it is that kept putting the signs up and taking them prolly thinks it was the same person, although I am making much the same assumption.

Our Kerry/Edwards sign is up now and we haven't gotten any crap yet. We have new neighbors now. I am waiting to see if they put it back up.
