Red Sox Fans Are Mostly Republicans
Remember the Sunday game in July right before the Dem convention? John Kerry went to throw out the first ball, and the "beloved" Red Sox fans booed him.

1. wait just one freaking minute........
there I was pulling for them to wipe the floor with the evil empire............perhaps I should reconsider, though I am an AL fan. Any more proof? That is quite low to boo one of their own.

9. Kerry Was In Boston for The Dem Convention
When he went to throw out the first pitch, the fans booed him. Yankees fans booed Dick Cheney when his ugly mug was shown on the screen during a Yankees game.

2. But the owners are Dems and one..Tom Werner is
going to campaign with Kerry..

From what I can gather..sports fans boo anybody at any time..and look how crazy they get after victory.

This is a great article on the analogy between the Red Sox win and Kerry..

"I’d argue that the Red Sox come-from-behind victory over George Steinbrenner’s Yankees is an omen of what will (OK, might) happen on Election Day.

The real struggle is already over. Even if the Red Sox lose the World Series, they have already fought the power—and won.

And make no mistake: Bush-Cheney ’04 is the power—the team with the home-field advantage, the team that represents continuity, the team that the smart money is still betting on.

The team that choked?

Yes, some Yankees players (and many fans) are Democrats, and plenty of Red Sox players and fans are Republicans. But aesthetically, the Yankees are a Republican team, even if their color is blue, and not just because owner George Steinbrenner almost went to jail for shenanigans he pulled with Richard Nixon. And the Red Sox are a Democratic team, even if their color is red, and not just because a part-owner of the franchise, Tom Werner, is a Democrat."

7. You're using one game to judge their whole fanbase?
I also recall their biggest fans in politics are the Kennedy family.

10. pzzzzzcheeeezzzzzz
Red Sox fans elected Kerry to office for 19 years, elected Kennedy to office since 1968, elected Barney Frank for almost 20 years, etc.

In the five stages of grief, Yavin, you seem stuck on denial.

14. They booed because the pitch fell short of the plate. EVERYBODY...
... who throws a 58-footer on the opening pitch gets booed. Everybody -- it has nothing at all to do with politics.
