7. I drives me
over the top. I have tried to not let it bother me, but I can't so far. And those commercials where people are chewing something and you hear them chewing and crunching ... that makes me sick. What are they thinking about thinking that will sell a product. We use to get grape nuts but now I can't stand having the box in the house.

christ I had a roommate once. Let's say we're lucky she's not dead and I'm not doing a long stretch in girl prison somewhere.
And I met her parents. They didn't fucking smack

15. Oh thank God.
To find other people who hate this too, and to find them right here on DU no less. Ahhhhh thank you, thank you...

I have a stepfather who eats like a barnyard animal. It's almost as if he's not actually ingesting the nutrients unless he sucks his food while he chews it and somehow at the same time performs the entire act with his mouth wide open. And he seems to think that building up a healthy sheen of gravy or butter on his face throughout the process gets him extra bonus points.

I also can't stand people who talk with their mouths full or who chew gum with their mouth open and smack smack smack either. Ugh.

I personally wouldn't mind it if this society viewed taking meals as they do going to the bathroom. We could have little huts out back for meals that are soundproof. At least for my family, it would be a blessing, much as I love them, breaking bread with them requires medication.

Thank you to all who responded. You have no idea how you've made my day.

16. Oh, yes.
I had a cubemate once who ate an apple every morning around 10a. Between the false teeth and the cavernous mouth, that sickening crunch just made me want to pop my eardrums with a pencil. I cannot stand mouth noises!

18. Only thing I really can't stand
is when people try to talk with their mouth full of partially chewed food. They try to stuff it back in their cheeks but it just doesn't work, and they wind up sounding like someone stuck cotton in their throat.
