Your favourite dance tune?
I've mp3'ed a CD's worth of pretty much everything that ever existed :) About 150 songs for a Hallowe'en party.

I'm curious to know what your all-time favourite dance song is. If I like it you'll get my gratitude and maybe a credit on our li'l ol' dance floor this Saturday. Keep in mind I know a LOT of songs, but I'm pushing 40, so I'm pretty useless after about 1994 :)

Forgive me if I don't reply right away. Must go and pay some attention to my s.o. whom I've hardly seen all day.

Cheers!

5. Oye Como Va
By either Carlos Santana or Tito Puente, but Tito's is more danceable. It's salsa, but you can samba or (my favorite) cha cha to it. Cha cha is a flashy dance if the woman is flexible and can follow.

This is SEXY music.

Either that or Fabio's album.

I TOLD you I'm pushing 40, I know about these things!

Hell, I even know about that awful Pat Metheny release from about 1994. Just can't remember the name.

I don't usually listen to dance music. But I used to go clubbing. And I always went nuts for Dead or Alive. Anything by Dead or Alive. And what a crush I had on the singer... He was SOOO yummy.

27. "We Built This City" by Starship
I never had anyone to go to the dances with me in high school but for some idiotic reason I went anyway and tortured myself by standing around hoping someone would dance with me, when everyone was either already taken or surrounded by venomous girlfriends who would laugh at me.

Anyhow, my horrible experience everytime was relieved exactly once, when an older dude I didn't know took pity on me and asked his gorgeous girlfriend to dance with me for one song. That's when the utterly ridiculous but upbeat song "We Built This City" by Starship came on, and we danced joyfully (her hiding whatever pity or disdain she might have actually felt for dancing with a fat loser). It was over very quickly but I will always feel a bittersweet dread when I hear that song and pause to reflect on my loveless, horrible life.
