Why Some of Us Love Sports - From A Yankees Fan
First, again congratulations to the Boston Red Sox and their fans. They were clearly the best team in all of baseball this season and will go down as one of the greatest baseball teams of all time.

Now, for the non-sports fans, this is why some of us love sports. We look to sports to draw some inspiration that can carry us through life. Sure, we put up with the over-paid, adolescent, steroid popping athletes, but we do so because we're looking for something magical. We're looking for something that we can use to inspire us to overcome the odds, and this Red Sox team has provided that for us.

Even a disappointed Yankees fan can look at what the Red Sox did and draw inspiration. The Red Sox overcame a near century of disappointment to win the championship, something that was almost unthinkable for many of their die hard fans. The Red Sox have shown us that there is no such thing as insurmountable odds. The Red Sox have shown us that you don't have to accept being second-best forever. The Red Sox have shown us that victory against all odds is indeed possible.

SO, LET'S TAKE WHAT THE RED SOX HAVE GIVEN US AND PUT IT TO GOOD USE ON TUESDAY. WE CAN DO THIS. WE CAN DEFEAT THIS ADMINISTRATION. WE CAN OVERCOME THE MEDIA WHORES, THE MONEY, THE POLITICAL CYNICISM AND WIN.

IF YOU HAVE DOUBTS, IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS...

REMEMBER THE RED SOX!!!!!

5. Great Post
Except the part about the Red Sox.
The repuke schilling disenfranchised Yankee runs. It was a fix.
I demand a recount.

Go Yankees.
