Newborn Survives After Being Tossed From 2nd Story Window

WHITE SETTLEMENT, Texas -- A newborn boy in Texas is in good condition despite having been thrown out of a second-floor window.

The infant's uncle is being held on $100,000 bond on charges of injury to a child.

Witnesses in the Fort Worth suburb of White Settlement say the five-day-old baby fell more than eleven-feet and landed in a grassy area, suffering no broken bones or internal bleeding.

Police are investigating but say the baby's mother told them her brother-in-law had asked to take the baby into his bedroom. The suspect's father says his son has a history of psychiatric problems.

A 4-month-old baby died Monday after a bassinet collapsed at a southeast Oklahoma City home day care.
Connor Tennant, the son of Jodie Bowers and Ian Tennant, died after being taken to a city hospital, Donna Kear, Connor’s aunt, told The Oklahoman.
Oklahoma City police Capt. Jeffrey Becker said emergency workers were called about 12:45 p.m. to Elizabeth’s Day Care, 5204 Eden Circle.
Investigators found the hinges on the legs of the bassinet bent, Becker said.
“We are not sure when the hinges were bent,” Becker said. “They are bent now.”
Police and medical examiners were continuing their investigation Monday night.
