Why does ambition never strike until 4 AM?
Every time I come up with a good idea, it's scuppered by the fact that every part of my body that isn't the creative and ambitious parts of my brain wants to go to sleep. I've tried writing the idea down and launching into it come morning (afternoon), but it usually just doesn't happen. Anybody else have this problem?

1. me
It happens whenever I'm trying to fall asleep, too. It must have soemthing to do with a link to the subconcious. Or something.

3. That's the sad part.
I'm sober. The only chemical altering my state of mind is caffeine.

5. Then you are blessed my son.
Take your fruitful thoughts and prosper.

Just think if you truly did have an altered state of mind. Oh, the inspiration. I'm not advocating drug use, mind you. I'm just saying. ;)

6. You may be right.
I've really got to start keeping a notebook next to my bed. It seems like it's the only way I come up with good ideas.

7. I come up with ideas for threads when I'm at work
My work is usually boring so I have a lot of time to think. My threads aren't always successful, but they are usually original. Just try to think about something that you would like to talk about when you are bored and then you have a DU thread. Cool?

4. For me...
I think I have good ideas at 4AM and I usually act on them. In the light of morning I am usually going, what in the hell was I thinking! :eyes:

9. Me too sometimes, but then look at it as a rough draft to improve upon.

8. I just got back from implementing
a huge idea that took twice as long as I thought it would but worked out better than I thought, but yes, usually, that is exactly how it goes. Needless, to say, I am major stoked tonight.
