Let's face it folks; These are America's darkest days
Since the 1960's

I was alive back then. It was bad.

But you know what, we got through them. We'll get through these days too

It will be much better if we get through them together.

1. I concur.
I was about to post something to people, to the effect of "do you think your overall prospects for the future look good?"

We do need to pull together, but as a loner in life (not by choice, I'm the easily ignoreable type), my options are rather limited.

2. Agreed. We can beat this coming mess.
But it will only happen if we stay together. Let's do it.

6. You ain't seen nothin' yet.
This country hasn't lived under a truly conservative government since the 1920s. Conservatives care nothing about human rights, Democracy or the environment... as long as they get a tax cut.

I give us 12 months tops before the shit hits the fan. Remember, Bush was in office nine months before a planes were run into the WTC.

9. Domestic Agenda
I lived through the Nixon/Nam erra. Yes it was bad. But this is WORSE because it goes WAY beyond the war issues now. Bush and his radical right wing are setting out to completly undo every economic and social progress we have made in the past 100 years. Caste system of rich and poor, elimination of every civil rights gains we have made, and a quasi theocracy. No, it was this NOT bad under Nixon.

12. my husband has been talking about *'s impeachment
since he was "elected" last time. It is disturbing that what he and his ilk have done seems to be beyond the law. I can't help but think that anyone else would have been in big trouble by now. But it is still early days... I do feel that accountability comes to all sooner or later.

Meanwhile, I guess I think that we have to be positive and keep doing the work we need to do. I was just reading another thread that seemed to have a Doomsday energy. After living through Reagan, I guess I feel that folks should channel their disappointment in a constructive and progressive way, like many in the past have done. There was great art, poetry, activism, etc in those times and there can be again.

13. I agree.
Junior is dangerous. He's a loose cannon with megalomaniacal tendencies. He really does seem to have an exaggerated sense of his own importance. He doesn't seem to believe he should have to answer to anyone.

He's dangerous, plain and simple.
