After a really bad day how do you treat yourself special?
I didn't sleep well last night. Too much stuff going through my head. I've been up on DU pretty much all night.

So now, as it comes time for bed I put on some Enya music, drew a nice warm bath with some scented bath crystals in it and soaked for about an hour. I figure I earned it.

How do you treat yourself special?

(I was going to ask how you pamper yourself but wanted to avoid the dirty diaper stuff...)

2. I don't.
Can't eat any "treats" because then I beat myself up over the fat content/what am I doing to my diabetes stuff.

I don't like soaking in the bath (I do, actually, I just don't get the "Realxing" kick out of it that most do)

Guess I just go to bed, turn off the light and sigh "Tomorrow's another day..."

6. I crank up loud music...
strip down to my skivvies and a tank top and bounce around the apartment screaming along with Tool or Marilyn Manson or Sepultura or Rammstein at the top of my lungs.

Or I light candles and take a long hot bubble bath.

7. Well last night it was a shot of Maker's in my finest crystal
but sometimes a glass of cabernet will do the trick. And it's special because normally I only allow myself to drink on the weekend. :-)

It used to be that I'd ...
...make homemade chocolate pudding, a cup of tea, and put "The Best of the Band" on the turntable.

Nowadays it's often frozen yoghurt and watching Britcoms.

And my videotape collection (comedies, classic movies) has seen me through a lot of sad times.

And I never miss an opportunity to walk in the rain.

14. One word....SHOP....
Depending on how bad a day it's been, it might be:

Makeup (when I've been intellectually fried and can't get my mind around anything but pretty colors and pleasant aromas)

Books (when I've been dragged down by gossip or RW bullshit)

Lingerie (fight with Mr. Laz)

Shoes (like who needs a reason?)

18. Well...
Sometimes I call friends in faraway cities; sometimes I go out to eat (mmm, Vietnamese food...) or get delivery (mmm, food that comes to me!); sometimes I buy books or new CDs; sometimes I indulge in some of my favourite recreational substances (not all at once, though); and sometimes, when the cause is truly sufficient, I do all of the above in an evening. Ahh!!

22. Typically,
I change clothes and go to my other job. Or maybe even my other other job.

If I'm actually at home trying to destress I write, I chat with a friend, I pour a glass of wine. I often find that housecleaning seems to destress me. Nothing is quite as effective as curling up with a purring cat and a good book, though.

25. Start with a nap. Then I go swimming for an hour at least...
The pool where I swim is nearly deserted at night. Olympic sized, so there's ample room to do bonafide laps. After about 10 minutes, I always reach a zone where there is no worry -- just water. It's the best.

Later, I'll watch an old movie or read, then have up a "serious" interactive play session with my cats -- pillows on the floor for "rocks," etc. If I have any residual grumpiness, their antics will siphon it off, guaranteed.

30. Go to the indoor range and shoot through a few boxes of 9MM
Start with the Sig 226, switch to the Walther P99, finish up with half a brick of .22LR through the Browning shooting at quarter-sized targets.
