Poll question: West Wing poll
As we know, President Bartlett temporarily signed over the presidency to the Speaker of the House, Glenallen Walken (John Goodman) while his daughter Zoey was kidnapped by Islamic terrorists. Was this the correct decision?

1. We democrats have learned a painful lesson....
by assuming the republicans practice fair play of rules.

Based on our experiences since 2000....

3. The Qumar foreign minister they had assassinated...
...was likely funded by GOP campaign contributors. I think they are opportunistically orchestrating a coup...

4. Sign of weakness
Bartlett did it for all the "right" reasons, but I think the "public" would take it as a sign of weakness. Plus, NEVER EVER EVER voluntarily give up power to a Puke.

5. All he has to say is
I have competent, smart people advising me.

No need to step down.

I think John Goodman is just a ratings thing although he seems to be doing a good job.

8. A big NO on that one. They even addressed it during the
season opener. Lincoln and Kennedy both lost sons while they were in office. Lincoln's son, Willie, and Kennedy's son Patrick. Lincoln was devastated. He was already afflicted with a crushing clinical depression. This couldn't have helped. And yet he steered the country through it's worse crisis ever. The Great Depression and WWII don't even come close to the Civil War in terms of danger to the fabric of our nation.

Bartlet should have stayed the course. Still love the show, but I'm not happy about their perceived need to pander to the repukes. Especially now that B*sh's number are dropping. They are not invulnerable anymore.

9. Bartlett made the wrong decision
But John Goodman is fantastic in his role. I really like him. Did you know he was one of the most common guests on Saturday night Live?
