Poll question: The real blockbuster trilogy thread: Star Wars (IV,V,VI) vs LOTR?

Alright, everyone knows the third Godfather was stupid, while the first two were great.

The LOTR is an amazing trilogy, and understandably some get bored by the storylines, the war scenes, and the length.

But Here's a thread for the two BIGGEST trilogies of all time.

1. Return of the Jedi takes down Star Wars

But, even if RotJ was a strong as the first two Star Wars movies, I still put Lord of the Rings out ahead...

2. Ah that's true

Not quite as much of a contrast as Godfather III was to the other two though.

Either way, I think that LOTR is the better trilogy.

3. LOTR is better then Star Wars

However the books are way better then the movies although I enjoyed the movies. Just can't beat one's own imagination. I've read the trilogy and the Hobbit something like six times.
