The Who blows more than the Doors
A bunch of drunken brits who think the louder they play the more groupies they'll get.

They are to the sixties rock what rugby is to gentlemanly sport.

8. The Who = 1 absolutely great album
and 1 good double album (Tommy and Quadrophenia). The rest of their stuff ??

Btw, I believe only The Who has gotten the F-word on the radio without a bleep (a dubious acheivement) in the song "Who Are You" (which proves nobody listens to a thing they have released since Tommy)

10. Woah......Dude, nobody ever blew harder than The Doors.
They are the kings of suck. John Densmore is probably the least kick-ass drummer to have ever oozed out of SoCal; Jim Morrisson was a pretentious buffoon whose handful of good images did not make him a poet, no matter how many high school males worship him (plus he single-handedly invented Goth: for this he deserves a Stalinist erasure from Rock history), and he invented that deep, crooning style of idiot vocalization that far too many new wavers and assorted dickcheeses picked up and ran with; Ray Manzarek was a creep with bad facial hair; and Robby Kreiger (their saving grace) not only influenced Travis Moody, but never played anything that wasn't in a blues scale, and was too chickenshit to invent noise guitar like John Cipollina was doing at the time. The Doors invented that solemn "grimace at the camera and take yourself way too seriously" school of rock thought, which eventually gave us pricks like David Coverdale and Nick Cave. The Doors' influence on rock has been almost uniformly negative, besides which their tunes were dorky: "Dontcha Love her madly/wanna be her daddy...."

Whereas the Who wrote "Pictures of Lily."

Case closed in my eyes, at least.

16. Okay, since you're too busy pretending that hookah tube is a dick....
I'll repeat the song title I provided in my OP: "Pictures of Lily." "POL" single-handedly blows everything the Doors ever did out of the water, shits on your mom, and farts in your daddy's mouth.

I could list about a hundred more Who songs I prefer to just about any other bands' songs.

22. You and your friends are doomed.
I'm gonna tell CNN, Fox News, Hannity, et al. that this is how liberals act.

Fuck it. You wanna list?

The Real Me
Sea and Sand
Put the Money Down
Now I'm a Farmer
5:15
Goin' Mobile
Bargain
Pure and Easy
Sally Simpson
Tattoo
I Can't Reach You
Glow Girl
Melancholia
Glittering Girl
New Song
Dogs
Call me Lightning
The Kids are All Right (c'mon, this is like the greatest song of the 60's!)
Armenia City in the Sky
Rael
A Quick One (While He's Away) (as used perfectly in "Rushmore')
Early Morning Cold Taxi
Substitute

They invented Power Pop, too.

What did the Doors ever do besides soften up the world for Iggy Pop's "cabaret" years?

Most of the early stuff was great. Anyway, Anyhow, Anywhere, Substitute, I Can See For Miles, My Generation...give me a break.

You can totally find more deserving targets of your musical ire than the Who.

edited for spelling

29. Dude. Krieger's solos usually aren't straight blues
Pentatonic a lot of the time, but usually he goes Dorian or Aeolian mode. The Doors aren't that great though--a few really good songs, a lot of okay songs and a lot of other songs.

30. The Who are my favorite band
Only spite, combined with jealousy, would make someone say that they blow. But don't cry, it's only teenage wasteland.
