The REAL Texas Longhorns hand thing (?)

Can any Texas DUers confirm that that is the real Texas Longhorns hand thingy? As Matt Damon (not really) demonstrates: Use both hands, palms toward yourself; horns straight up.

If so what is this thing that Dan Quayle, Laura Bush and * keep doing?!

But I'm a Longhorn, and I've always done it the other way, one or two hands.

4. In normal usage, always

with back of hand facing yourself and fingers facing outward. More comfortable for prolonged usage at sporting events. If the guy pictured is really a Longhorn, then he is turning it around for the benefit of the camera.
