tomcat + antibiotic solution = standoff.
Mixing with food worked great for two days but, on day three, no soap. He's had three teeth out and the vet said to get his medicine down him by 'any means possible'. I can't detect any odor from this liquid Clindimycin but evidently my cat does !

3. To give a cat
olive oil for hair ball prevention put the oil on the side of its paws, it naturally licks it off.
An eye-dropper and holding the month open by inserting finger behind its molars. It helps if there are 2 of you.

4. I forgot
then close cat's mouth and gently caress throat with a from mouth towards stomach movement to provoke swalling action. However, cats will spit out the pill if you did feel the swallow. Liquids, use eyedropper with it far enough down to swallow but not gag.

5. I find pills and a piller work best
Our Sophie turns from a pampered princess into a wildcat if you try to give her medicine. The best method we've found involves one person wrapping her in a towel and hanging on while a second person shoots a pill down her throat with a piller. She had a liquid med once and after a day of trying to give it to her, we had to go get the pills.

Some cats are easy to give medicine to, some aren't. I don't know why. Good luck.

7. Try a baby "snot sucker"
Those little things that look like a miniature turkey baster, used to clear babies' nasal passages.

I do not have experience with kitties, but with my dog, if I slide it into a tooth gap and squeeze, most of it goes down.

It saved his life when I filled it with hydrogen peroxide to make him throw up after he got into some arsenic peanuts - long story, happy ending - don't even ask.

Also use it for pepto bismo when he has gotten into something that irritates his system.

Otherwise, cannot get liquids down him period.

Every pet owner should have one of these - you might already have one, if you have had kids. Good Luck
