Requesting prayers, good vibes and thoughts for my nephew
Edited on Mon Jan-17-05 09:27 AM by Lavender Brown
My sixth-month old nephew has had a cold that he can't seem to get over and he's been having problems breathing lately. The pediatrician said it could be something serious, so my sister and her husband are bringing him to the hospital for tests this week. My sis is beyond stressed of course and I feel terrible because I can't be there. Any prayers or good thoughts would be appreciated. :(

Edit:

2. Hoping that all goes well.
Sick little ones, especially when one is having difficulty breathing is scary. Hoping that he improves soon.

3. Sending good vibes to the kiddo and family...
I can empathize with their fear. My older daughter had Croup at age 4 months and scared us to death with her barking. By the way, she wil graduate from college in May. Twenty or so years from now, I hope that you will be attending your nephew's graduation too!.

8. My daughter was hospitalized at age 6-weeks for breathing
problems related to a cold. Turns out she had bronchiolitis, which is caused by a virus and can be serious. For the next couple of years, everytime she had a cold, I had to give her breathing treatments with a machine that generated a mist. I held a mask in front of her face and she breathed this mist. Each time I worried that she would have to go back to Children's Hospital, but luckily that never happened again.

Fortunately she outgrew it, but I have to tell you, it took YEARS from my life, what with the initial and subsequent worrying that I did! I hope that your little nephew is okay. A  for the little guy!

9. Thanks everyone
It's really scary, her other kids didn't have anything like this when they were babies.

11. LB, when my son was six months old,
he went through the same type of thing. Turned out to be a virus called RSV, (can't recall the full name). Not serious, but he needed a nebulizer for a few months. Now he is just fine.

Prayers and good thoughts headed your way.

14. What a cute little baby!
I am so sorry and I promise that he'll be in my thoughts! But I have every hope for him. My cousin's one-year-old was placed in ICU, last month, with double pneumonia, and, from what my aunt described, his prospects didn't sound good. But that little guy recovered and is now home and doing well. I predict the same for this adorable baby.:grouphug:

15. Prayers for all of you. Lots of little ones, including my nephew
right after birth, have breathing problems and they are always frightening, especially since the babies can't tell you anything. He's a dolly.
