Does anyone else have the flu?
I thought I had a cold or a sinus infection or something until I became feverish.

Ugh.

2. There's a Rumor that the Flu Season is Much Milder this year
I wonder if it has anything to do with the unavailability of flu vaccine? Just a touch of paranoia, it will pass.

8. I've had the flu worse
and I have noticed that not too many people have had the flu this year so maybe it is milder?

19. It's mild but pervasive here
Everyone I know has it or has had it or is coming down with it. I've been more or less fighting it off for three weeks.

5. I don't have the flu, but I'm recovering from a cold/sinus infection.
Edited on Mon Jan-17-05 02:25 PM by Ilsa
As a matter of fact, I was about to ask on here if anyone has a suggestion for my occipital lymph nodes being inflamed. The area low, behind the left ear and near the back of the head under the scalp feels slightly swollen as I am recovering from a bout of sinus drainage. It is tender, also. I've used a heating pad,a nd I'm trying to drink more fluids to promote better circulation throughout my system. I wonder if anyone else has any suggestions.

If you have a fever and body aches, you might have the flu. Have you tried Tamiflu? It is supposed to stop the flu dead cold in its tracks. It will cost a little, but everyone I've talked to said it is worth it.

6. I have only taken nyquil
and was therefore able to sleep a little last night.

I'll try to get Mr. Gee to pick some up for me on his way home from work. thanks for the suggestion.

11. You'll probably need a doctor's prescription for it.
Call your doc, tell them all your symptoms and see if they'll call in a script for you.

It's great if you have prescription insurance coverage. Even so, the Tamiflu might have the largest co-pay on it.

15. I think so. You might call the pharmacy and see if it has become OTC
over the last year, but I doubt it.

I can understand that your doc won't give Rx for some things over the phone, but I would think he/she might reconsider instead of having people with contagious diseases traipsing through the office if it is clearly the flu. I guess they need the fee!

14. Pretty sure my daughter has it
taking her to the doctor in 1/2 hour. She started with chills, fever, body aches, cough, stuffy nose on Saturday (why do they always get sick when the pediatrician is closed?)

Anyway, called the doctor, he said not much could be done, but good Lord, she is soooo sick, I decided to bring her in. She is just miserable, poor little thing.
