8. Those funky patterns advertised in women's magazines
The ones that had no company behind them, no markings, never fit right and were always out of style even when they were new.

9. I like to sew, and I was thinking the same thing.
Even Simplicity .99 cents patterns have that beat.

I never thought I'd find myself longing for the fashion sense of (gack, bllp, ack)...

Nancy Reagan?!

7. Let's not forget the hair
The hair, both style and color, looks like something Nancy Reagan wore 20 years ago.

17. Someone on another thread was trying to think of the name of the mom on
"Father Knows Best." I just remebered - Jane Wyatt.

10. Christ almighty, how many fashion violations can she get away with?

11. The real problem is
that Laura is a little hippy, and the cut of the jacket, as well as its length, only accentuate her hips. She should wear a shorter jacket, and possibly one that's not quite so fitted (not real sure about that last). She should also wear the jacket open, with a nice shell underneath. She's a little busty, so the closed jacket all the way up to the neckline only makes it worse. Seeing a little cleavage would not only make her look younger, but would be more flattering all around.

As for the hair, it's too much of a helmet. She needs highlights, and a very different cut. The swept-back look is not only dated, it doesn't flatter her face. She needs wispy bangs, and hair that curves forward on her cheeks.

15. Surely she can afford clothes that fit
This jacket doesn't even come close to fitting--it looks like it was made for a much shorter person.
