Do you have Anglophobia?
ang·lo·pho·bi·a ( P ) Pronunciation Key (gr--fb-)
n.
An abnormal fear of people and objects associated with England.

Fear of high tea, of toad-in-the-hole and "bangers and mash", makes a lot of sense. Fear of aging rock stars is more difficult to explain. I don't mind Manchester United at all. It's Prince Charles that I fear.

She who must be obeyed.

Oh, that was another Brit., or was she? hehehehe..

She's a wonderful gardener.

She has the gappy teeth, I think that's kind of some requirement.

Great Roman nose, though.

10. If you had to deal with 'Chavs'
which are now about 75% of the teen population over here you would definately be anglophiles.

Think crappy tracksuits, gold jewellry and fake tan...sprinkle in a surly aggresive attitude to anyone without those items....and mix it all together with large amounts of cheap alcohol and self rolled cigarettes and you have the chav.

12. I watched a segment on Chavs on the BBC
Edited on Wed Jan-19-05 06:06 AM by Solly Mack
Your comments are more flattering than what those on the show had to say about Chavs.

"ignorant" "loads of unwed mothers" "trashy" are just a few of the remarks made.

People really hated the caps.

I thought about the stark contrast between "Chavs" and the "Sloans" of yester-year.

13. You have to experience them in the Flesh
I just finished my a levels this year so I thought Id seen the last of them. NOPE.... Im at the University of Liverpool and although there arent many student chavs there are plenty who like to hang around Liverpool city centre..... ruining it for genuine Liverpudlians and students. Its such a great city but its infested by teen idiots... a lot of whom take the bus into Liverpool from surrounding towns, including my own (St Helens) just to cause trouble.

here are some funny sites about Chavs

17. Chavs sould like they studied the worst parts of the US population
and imported them---the Speed/Car freaks, the hip hop wannabees, 'thugs' and others and made an amalgalm and imported it to your country

22. There's a major difference between Chavs and Sloanes
A Sloane (formerly Sloane-Ranger) is centred on the area of London around Sloane Street and Sloane Square. A simple studio apartment there can cost close to 1/2 million dollars. Sloanes are definitely upper-middle class, or upper class.

Chavs arise in all urban settings, they are principally drawn from the working-classes (there are some middle-class ones, who are working-class wanna-bees).

15. Don't worry---it is not just a British problem
you should see the sorry state of many of America's teenagers---the Chav kind of reminds me of white suburban teens trying to act like inner city black gangsters over here in the states. It is an epidemic. They have no respect for property, women, themselves---sad and disgraceful

26. I think you meant to say "angloPHOBES," not "angloPHILES."
And are Chavs the same people who are known as "Kevin" and "Sharon" and wear a type of clothing called "shell suits"? If so, I think I know that type.

Hey, we have our cheeseballs, and you have yours.

19. I hate the electoral college too
It has long outlived it's usefulness

If it hadden't been for the electoral college, Al Gore would have president in 2000, winning by at least 500,000 votes, but probably hundreds of thousands, if not millions of Gore votes were not counted. Had all the votes in Florida been counted, I am pretty sure Gore would have won Florida and thence the election
