Anyone know shrubya voters who watch or like The Daily Show/Jon Stewart?
If so, how can they reconcile their shrubya support with the continued exposure of his administration on the show?

1. I got my bro-in-law to watch it a few times
He didn't mind it since Jon took a few shots at Dems as well.

3. I do..
funny is funny..

I don't mind when Stewart goes after our people either. It's just good comedy. I bet pubs are half his audience.

5. My brother thinks John Stewart is a Republican
My bro isn't a * voter because he doesn't vote. Still, despite strong convictions against the Iraq war, he is pretty conservative/liberatarian, and he is hooked on the show.

I took a chance getting him America: The Book for Christmas, not knowing if he had ever seen the show, and he loved it. He said Stewart "plays it down the middle. I think he's a republican, but you can't really tell for sure."

I wonder if there are other TDS viewers who think that Stewart is a republican?

6. There's no way he's a Republican.
I think I'd put a grand on that. Stewart has the ability to point out, in a funny way, the things that we on the left cannot fathom how people on the right DON'T see them. (Did that make sense?)

7. I don't know about Keith Olberman
but Stewart is the closest we have to a paid shill like the rest of MSM is for *. Unlike MSM with Repubs, Stewart has no real connections to any Dem groups. So sometimes I cringe that 'our side' isn't presented as polished as repub side is on MSM.

For instance, he once said that John Kerry is the first 'War Hero' dems have nominated since JF Kennedy. Of course that is not true, but he was trying to give our side without the 'memos' MSM receives from their party. Stewart was trying to point out that the * campaign came out attacking 'the first dem War Hero nominated since Kennedy.'

He is just a real guy who happens to think like us. If he were a real shill like MSM is for *, he would have a dem media blaster.

8. That made sense
And I'm sure you're right about Stewart not being a Republican. I also think my brother was wrong about him playing it down the middle, as I think Stewart's anti-Bush bias obviously showed. Sure, TDS does make fun of democrats, but mostly in the same way that liberals make fun of the democratic party--for constantly rolling over.

To be honest, I think the buildup to the Iraq War has pushed Stewart significantly leftward. Before all that, I think he was more or less a moderate libertarian with some liberal sympathies.
