I wasn't going to believe it until I saw it, but here it is! This is fantastic!

Snow brings stuff in this town to a grinding halt... I hope it continues.

1. Oooh oooh!
How much more is expected? Lots, and lots, I hope. I really love the way no one in DC seems able to manage with any snow at all, even those who've moved from a cold, snowy part of the country.

I used to live in Alexandria. And I used to work at DCA (National Airport). Would you believe that my very first day of work was . . . January 20, 1969!

3. They're saying a couple of inches this morning...
An inch or two this evening, and then more again tomorrow. Keep you fingers crossed. :-)

2. I'm sorry for you DUers that live there and those going to protest, but
I hope it is absolutely fucking miserable there tomorrow. Despicably cold, spitting sleet and whatever else it can do to give Dubya a horrible time. Couldn't happen to a more deserving fellow.

Hey, maybe he'll catch something and pull a Harrison. But then again, we'd be stuck with Cheney. Ew.

4. Ha!
I remember when I lived there people literally abandoned their cars in the middle of the street if more than two inches hit the ground! They'd just stop the car, get out, and walk away. The police and the poor sods who had to clear the snow (both of them) LOVED that.

5. The flurries are coming down pretty good here in Fairfax
Been snowing for a good hour and the ceiling is so low, I can't see very far at all, maybe the next 3 buildings down the street and then nothing but white. I'm on the 3rd floor with a bank of windows, so it's been a great morning to watch this.

Cars are pretty well covered. We inspected the quality and it is light and dry snow.

I agree with the earlier poster: I can't figure out why everyone around here freaks. Hardly anyone is a native and I know a lot of folks who are from Penn, NY, Mass, etc. Why can't folks cope with the snow once they move here?

I, for one, love snow.

6. snow in DC
I remember the Kennedy inaugural on January 20, 1961 when a big snowstorm hit the East coast.I lived on Long Island at the time and school was closed because of the weather so I watched the inaugural on TV. The snow snarled DC although it ended before the swearing in ceremony began, but it remain cold and windy. Wow 44 years ago!
