Fish with human-like faces discovered in South Korea
Pravda

A house owner in the town of Chongju did not want to expose his fish to the public eye for long, although the entire neighborhood was aware of the strange-looking fish that had human-like facial features. The Chungcheong Today newspaper managed to obtain sensational pictures of the fish. The incredible fish (two females) are the descendants of a carp and a leather carp, which is also known as the tangerine fish for its bright color. The two fish are about 80 centimeters long and 50 centimeters in circumference. They live in the pond near the house of a 64-year-old Korean. One may see two lines and two dots on their heads, which bear some resemblance to human eyes. The fish's eyes are placed on the sides of their heads, as it is common with the majority of fish species. The "human eyes" of the fish are actually their nostrils.

The two fish were born in 1986, but they have never attracted any public attention before. The human-like facial features of the fish appeared only a short while ago. "My fish have been getting more and more human for the past couple of years," the owner of the unusual fish species said.

Scientists said that it was quite a unique, albeit not a very surprising phenomenon. A carp and a leather carp are congeneric fish species, that is why such unusual descendants are quite possible. Unfortunately, the two fish are females so it will not be possible for them to breed further on. The fish-lover would definitely try to increase the population of human-like fish and attract fishermen's attention.
