2. I recall seeing some posts about Burning Man a few months ago
I'm sure there are some here who have gone. I've seen pictures -- it looks really intense and hot to me!

3. just kinda seems like something i ought to do
before i die. maybe. got a friend that wants to go. he has friends in reno. they have done it, and he would like to go also.
the beat bush mobile is pretty dead, and i think it would be cool to drag her out there and give her a good sendoff.
i also do ceramics, and think it would be fun to put some pots in there.

4. I've gone once (in 2000) and it was incredible!
I would say you can probably NOT burn a car -- they're very very strict about environmentalism and "leave no trace", and that includes burn scars on the land. (People come up with all kinds of ways to burn stuff without causing damage, though, so you might want to check in with someone more experienced). Also you have to bring back out with you EVERY.SINGLE.THING. you bring with you (yes, you bus your own trash) and that would certainly include any burned-out car hulks. So if you had a tow truck or other kind of truck for the wreckage....

5. hhmmmm
i was afraid of that. i figured i might have to strip out all the plastics, and stuff. i am asuming that i will have to tow it there, tho, just gonna put it on a dolly. so, i could tow it back out, i guess.
but, it will be a big job to make it burn clean.

7. No, it's an arts/freedom/spiritual...
comminung in the desert alternative lifestyle, do-your-own-thing kind of experience. It's where we were in the '60's and lost, and that thinking pops up here and there, particularly at Burning Man. My fear is that it will get so big that the real reason for it will be lost.
