4. When I was in elementary school , I used the word " hoagie "
now I say " sub " . In fact I have a 7 incher on the way now if the delivery guy makes it through the lunch traffic .

gyro is the greek word for it, so yes, it usually has a favorite greek meat. but substitute a different meat and it's still a gyro.

Catfish or Crawfish or Roast Beef or "Ersters" or you name it. Dressed, of course with Mayo and tomatoes and lettuce and onions and peppers and hot sauce served with a side of fries and an ice cold beer preferably on a balcony overlooking Bourbon Street while the pounding Cajun beat fills the air. 19. I was gonna add that,
I voted for sub, but I lived in Lafayette for a couple of years and I liked the fried oyster po'boys. Sometimes they gave me a belluache though!
