How Deep Is Your Love?

I know your eyes in the morning sun
I feel you touch me in the pouring rain
And the moment that you wander far from me
I wanna feel you in my arms again

And you come to me on a summer breeze
Keep me warm in your love and then softly leave
And it’s me you need to show

How deep is your love
I really need to learn
’cause we’re living in a world of fools
Breaking us down
When they all should let us be
We belong to you and me.....................

my favorite Bee Gee, since I was ten years old and "Jive Talking" was a hit. Everyone else went nuts over Barry, but I always wanted Robin! Okay, okay, you can quit pointing and snickering now!

6. Didn't some other guy claim he wrote this?
I would find that hard to believe. The Bee Gees have a signature style in their basic songwriting that's recognizable even in the songs they wrote that were performed by other people ("Heartbreaker" by Dionne Warwick, "Grease" by Franky Valli, "I Am A Woman In Love" by Barbara Streisand, "Islands In The Stream" by Dolly Parton and Kenny Rogers). It would be unusual for someone else to have written a song they would steal that would happen to fit that style.

7. Here's an article about it.

I guess the guy was saying that only part of it had been plaguerized, but I guess it was overturned in 1983.

8. They also wrote
"Emotion" sung by Samantha Sang; they even did background vocals on that one. And the one Barry did with Barbara Streisand, "Guilty", they all wrote that one, too. They do, indeed, have a very distinct style that's immediately recognizable.

10. Hmmmm...
Fathomless and frighteningly unconditional apparently.

For you out there who remembers writing a similar thread back in September 2003 in which this thread, along with a couple of others helped spark a few intense conversations (and then some). :)

15. Ooooh, details,
SarahB, details, please?? For those of us with no, ahem, love life, or "intense conversation" life to speak of, who need to live through the lives of others who actually DO have it!

11. I love the Bee Gees.
I have a deep, abiding love for the Bee Gees. And I maintain that it's impossible to be in a bad mood while listening to Jive Talkin'.

13. Nice melody built on an interesting set of chords.
The BeeGees are very talented songwriters although this can be obscured by the fact they choose to express themselves through the rather corny medium of disco. I play a solo jazz piano rendition of this tune and it's really pretty even though I'm a shitty pianist.

Great pic, by the way.
