Local Fundamentalist Billboards...
Edited on Mon Jan-24-05 08:00 PM by YellowRubberDuckie
Billboard outside Kingfisher OKlahoma, where I'm currently living with my mother, going apeshit, while looking for a job:
You call it Abortion
God Calls it MURDER

It's bright yellow with big black letters, with Murder being in RED. Personally, I'm a little offended. Their idea about why people have abortions and how many actually happen everyday is totally screwed up. I just hate to think that people are that dumb, but it's true. Flip the TV on E! any time of day and see that Love is in the Heir Princess Ann Claire. She's living proof stupid people need to be allowed to fall off their bike and hit their head or play with the old lawn darts.

Anything interesting in your neck of the woods?

3. Any mega-churches down there?
I am in KC and we are seeing a bunch of gigantic fundie churches being built. Churches bigger than the arena downtown. It's unreal. I guess when they don't have to pay taxes, these churches have all kinds of disposable income to invest in constructing mega buildings for worship.

4. There are several in Oklahoma City.
We're about a half an hour NW of Oklahoma City in a rural community. The baptist churches in this community are GIANT. It's horrible how the churches don't fulfill their responisibilities to take care of the communities they are in, but they can build mega churches. It makes me ill.

6. I am in complete agreement.
And these churches are so lavish and over the top it's disgusting.

How far are you from Springfield, MO? They are absolutely inundated with mega churches there.

If there is any justice in our society, these churches will be forced to pay taxes soon.

7. Super Churches.....
Yep, I'm in Detroit. And it seems that every peice of open land is becoming a huge super church.
It is really necessary to have stadiums of worshippers on every other corner? Especially when its so many other resources can be placed there.
Makes me pissed to see all that space being bought up by churches.

Hell, I'll be happy to have a real freakin grocery store around me. Its nothing but those damn bargain grocery chains around me. I always have to drive around for 15-20 minutes to hit an actual grocery store or fresh market.
