I was worried about you getting back okay after seeing how much snow you all got slammed with!

When I saw it on The Weather Channel, I said "Welcome back from Mexico!" :o

Nini took the pic... and!

In the massive door prize drawing, I won a 2-night, 2-person stay in a deluxe room in a major hotel in the PHX metro area! We're going on a weekend getaway in February! :loveya:

18. Rock on!
Not sure I believe you're doing AC/DC, however: you're not drooling.

All things considered, I'd'a thunk you were doing the solo in "Montana."

Or, did you ever see Mike Keneally play? You look not unlike him in this shot.

:headbang:

19. As a matter of fact!
I saw Keneally play in a Zappa tribute with the Seattle Symphony back in 1996, along with Ike Willis, the Fowlers, Steve Vai, Chad Wackerman, and Tommy Mars. Mars stuck around and he autographed my program. :-)

20. Cool!
He was still wearing his hair long back then. Last I saw, he'd cut it almost to your length.

His stuff is AMAZING! Obviously he can do a lot of what Frank did, both on the guitar and in terms of the stylistic jump-cuts Frank used to impose on his bands. Where he and Frank part company is that Keneally has a lot more respect for (white) pop craftsmanship, the more experimental side of the Beatles and the Beach Boys and artists who've followed in their wake (Keneally's a humongous XTC fan, for instance), and he also doesn't feel the need to be so cynical all the time, so he has a warm and cuddly pop side where Frank would rather revert to doo-wop, or else sing "I Have Been In You."

Anyway, if you get a chance, check out one of his CDs. I think his earlier (more homemade) stuff would be more immediately enticing to a Zappa fan, but I'd also recommend the one called Dancing.
