Another unbelievable video clip: MD-11 down!

This is real footage from the CAL MD-11 approaching Chek Lap Kok and crashing after touchdown. As an former ALPA accident investigator, I hate to show you this. The original 20-minute clip was made available to IALPA for accident investigation purposes. It was to be held in secret. These seconds of the China Air Line crash have made it onto the internet.

On the original tape, the narrator (a British Airways first officer) commented on a number of approaches and landings in the rather stormy weather. He and friends were video-taping arrivals at Chek-Lep from the approach end of the active runway (during storm conditions).

What I have here is the short version ... the crash. The voices in the background are the B/A pilot and the friends sitting in his car near the end of the runway.

BTW: Of 250 or so passengers, only two died.
