and isn't Kobe still on the DL?
What a fool Buss was to let one player "run" the team. Hey, Jeannie, get your dad to bring back Phil!!!!

2. Yeah, Lakers should have kept Shaq
and told Kobe to hit the bench. Used to be a huge Lakers fan but no more ... Letting Phil go was another huge mistake.

4. Kobe is a disaster.
They should have known better. He's got skills, but Shaq has just as many and is a good guy for the team. :dunce:

6. The Only Reason I Can See For Letting Shaq Go Was The Age...
Shaq is still awesome but he's thirty two going on thirty three....

Kobe is six years younger....

12. The info. I read at the time said that the team
was disgruntled with Shaq for not training in the off season or something like that. They also mentioned the age stuff.

To me it seemed like a convenient way to ship Shaq off to try to make Kobe happy, because the two didn't get along.

I agree that it was a mistake to give Kobe everything he wanted--it creates a huge imbalance to the team to give one player such bias and weight over important issues that affect them all.

again--just a theory from a person that doesn't know a lot about the team or the game...

whatever that's worth (haahaha!)

16. While I can see admiring his talent,
he obviously is still more than a little 'wet behind the ears' and lacking in terms of wisdom and judgement (Kobe). So it's unfortunate that this is the path they decided to take--betting on the kid.

Either way, my dh won't be giving up on them anytime soon. He's been a fan of the Lakers in good times and bad. He's a diehard. He's still got shirts with some of the former members on them...(sigh).

The season's barely started and Rudy's already quitting? Oh man, this is SAD...

10. Kobe wants to bring in Michael Cooper
Kobe and Rudy never really got along.

Rudy gave Kobe some leeway, but Rudy wanted to develop the other players more. And Kobe's antics grated on Rudy.

Kobe and Coop have been friends a long time, and since Coop was snubbed by Denver, he's looking for a change.

17. In LA, there are reports they want to hire Phil Jackson again.
I love karma sometimes.

And the ESPN radio station is calling Kobe "Crazy 8" because he apparently is the reason for Rudy T's departure.

19. "F" the Lakers...
I live in Southern California and I am so sick of hearing about Kobe. He is the biggest baby in the NBA; it was even worse when he had the other big baby, Shaq, to bicker and argue with.

You make millions of dollars putting a ball through a hoop. Shut the fuck up and play basketball!!
