take this test to see how stupid you are, and no cheating
...and the stupidest person here gets a really stupid prize.....

The average person only gets 7 right. This is based on U.S. & CDN info, so use all of the lobes of your brain. This can be more difficult than it looks -- it just shows how little most of us really see! There are 27 questions about things we see every day or have known about all our lives. How many can you get right? These little simple questions are harder than you think-- it just shows you how little we pay attention to the common place things of life.

Put your thinking caps on. No cheating! No looking around! No getting out of your chair! No using anything on or in your desk or computer! Can you beat 20??

(The average is 7) Write down your answers and then check your answers (on the bottom) only AFTER completing all the questions.

REMEMBER - NO CHEATING!!! --- BE HONEST!!!

That means no looking at your phone or anything on your desk...Then, before you pass this on to your friends, change the number on the subject line to show how many you got correct. Forward to your friends and also back to the one who sent it to you. LET'S JUST SEE HOW OBSERVANT YOU REALLY ARE. Here we go!

1. On a standard traffic light, is the green on the top or bottom?

2. How many states are there in the USA? (Don't laugh, some people don't know)

3. In which hand is the Statue of Liberty's torch?

4. What six colors are on the classic Campbell's soup label?

5. What two numbers on the telephone dial don't have letters by them?

6. When you walk does your left arm swing with your right or left leg?

7. How many matches are in a standard pack?

8. On the United States flag is the top stripe red or white?

9. What is the lowest number on the FM dial?

10. Which way does water go down the drain, counter or clockwise?

11. Which way does a "no smoking" sign's slash run?

12. How many channels on a VHF TV dial?

13. On which side of a women's blouse are the buttons?

14. Which way do fans rotate?

15. What is on the back of a Canadian dime?

16. How many sides does a stop sign have?

17. Do books have even-numbered pages on the right or left side?

18. How many lug nuts are on a standard car wheel?

19. How many sides are there on a standard pencil?

20. Sleepy, Happy, Sneezy, Grumpy, Dopey, Doc. Who's missing?

21. How many hot dog buns are in a standard package?

22. On which playing card is the card maker's trademark?

23. On which side of a Venetian blind is the cord to turn them up and down?

24. On the back of a Canadian $1 coin, what is in the center?

25. There are 12 buttons on a touch tone phone. What 2 symbols bear no digits?

26. How many curves are there in the standard paper clip?

27. Does a merry-go-round turn counter or clockwise?

6. I Got 19. No Fair Asking AMERICANS About Canadian Money, That Cost Me 2
THAT is NOT in common observation for Americans. And no fair five lug nuts on a standard car wheel. It USED to be five, but now, it is 4. And I noted so in my answer 4 (used to be 5) but I counted myself wrong, comparing to your answers...so, really, 20 or 22 is a more accurate score for me.

And I got all six colors on the Campbell's can, but I lumped yellow/gold as one color and added Green, so counted myself wrong.

At any rate, I still kick ass.

But it shoulda been more like about 23. There's only 4 that I feel I LEGITIMATELY got wrong, for a score of 23...but I scored myself 19.

Another bone to pick: the Campbell's soup can. In printing circles, white is not a color. It is the paper.

not everyone's FM radio goes to 88 not mention some people don;t even CARE about it let alone USE it(MP3's are replacing them).

No.10 has been debunked, the direction in which water goes down the drain has to do with the shape and size of the sink.

Not everyone has seen a Canadian dollar

Not everyone has seen a classsic Campell soup can.

Not everyone has seen Snow White or even rembered all the dwarves Snow White.

Not everyone is familiar with car wheels

Not everyone wear's women's clothes.

Not everyone has seen a VHF TV dial.

This is why real intelligence tests are based on pure logic rather than "common" knowledge.

. . . from a physicist or planetary scientist or something?

I've heard the "clockwise-north, counterclockwise-south"; "it only affects things the size of tropical storms"; and "it depends how big your sink is".

Does anyone know for sure -- or can anyone come up with an answer that's so compelling we'll believe it no matter what?

And then there's the venetian blinds one, where the correct answer (based on empirical evidence of the blinds I'm looking at this very moment) is "both".

So that's 19 out of 25

And then the one about water down the drain, where the correct answer is "it depends on where you are".

20 out of 25

And then the one about matches -- like I ever use matches

21 out of 25

And the careless use of the word "standard" -- which gives me another

22 out of 25

So, if I had seen a VHF dial in the last 30 years, or hadn't reversed my mental image of Miss Liberty, or could EVER remember all the Dwarfs,

There's a difference.

And you're wrong about several things, anyway. The furthest left you can go on the FM dial is 87.5 or 87.9, depending on the radio; a standard automobile wheel has either four or five lug nuts, depending on the make of car (so calling it "standard" is mistaken, anyway); and if a fan turns clockwise as you look at it, then it turns anti-clockwise with respect to itself (that's like saying I must be left-handed because the hand you saw me write with was to your left as you looked at me from the front).

56. 22, but it should be 23, the lowest number on my FM dial is 87.5.
I'm saying I got 23 right. I missed blue on the soup can, I got the UHF/VHF confused and I don't know shit about Canadian money.

I don't eat hotdogs or Campbells Soup, have seen very little Canadian money, and haven't heard the Snow White story since I was little. So that's my excuse.

63. I got 15.... could have done better if....
I ever dealt with Canadian money (2), I ever smoked (1 question about matches), lived in a town with vertical stop lights (1 ours are horizontal) and if I'd owned a stereo with an actual dial in the last 10 years (1). So, I excuse myself for 5 lost points and give myself a 20!;-)
