FDR
We could sure use another one like him about now!

"We know now that Government by organized money is just as dangerous as Government by organized mob.... are unanimous in their hate for me and I welcome their hatred. I should like to have it said of my first administration that in it the forces of selfishness and of lust for power met their match; I would like to have it said of my second administration that in it these forces met their master." —Franklin D. Roosevelt, 1936

2. you bet we do
Real compassion is just about completely gone in this country. Elanor had enough for 10 people and inspired it in others.

3. FDR
is my favorite President. But he was a moderate for his day. DU wouldn't have liked him if it were around back then.

5. Have you ever been to Hyde Park?
My wife and I went there for our first anniversary (nine years ago...wow!) Not only can you tour the house and the grounds (FDR and Eleanor are buried in their rose garden) but his presidential library is there, too.
