I really, really hate the word "meme."
I just fucking hate it! That is the stupidest-sounding goddamned word to be added to the English language in ages.

And while I'm at it: I also hate the mangled English of "my bad." Goddammit, "bad" is not a noun! It's a fucking adjective!

Jesus Christ and His Orchestra.... :grr:

3. I just used the antique word "couplet" in an email... bet you haven't...
It's a funny word. Looks weird. Weird looks weird, too.

Maybe I ought to go to sleep. I'm taking amoxicillin for an ear infection and it's feeling better (I think...).

4. Thank you
I'd like to take this opportunity to note that Alexander Haig was the first to corrupt the noun "impact" into a verb, and I've been getting headaches ever since.

I don't even know what "meme" means, and that "my bad" bullshit is just lazy and offensive.

Well done.

7. From the dictionary: http://www.m-w.com
Main Entry: meme
Pronunciation: 'mEm
Function: noun
Etymology: alteration of mimeme, from mim- (as in mimesis) + -eme
: an idea, behavior, style, or usage that spreads from person to person within a culture

Can't say that I've ever used that word, but the French expressions are better known from my college days:

plus ça change, plus c'est la même chose
(The more things change, the more they remain the same)

tout de même
(All the same)

10. I don't know what it is
A personal pronoun for a mime? An expletive of selfishness? ME ME?

I kind of like "spurious."

11. I hate the expression, "Jesus Christ and his Orchestra"...
Just kidding -- I actually think that expression is hilarious! Who knew Jesus even had an orchestra??

I hate the word "meme", also. I also hate the way people use the word "ghetto" as an adjective. Ex. "I am ghetto." WTF does that mean? You are a run down neighborhood with a high crime rate? I don't get it.

13. Meme's not so bad . . .
Actually useful, and more efficient than "an idea spread from person-to-person throughout a culture."

Overused perhaps, because people (I use that term advisedly when referring to the media -- primary abusers of "meme") luuuuuuuv a word when it first gains currency.

With regard to "my bad" -- it's slang, fer goshsakes! It's SUPPOSED to be mangled. Slang is playing with language to find a new way to say an old thang.

With regard to "my bad," I recommend you chill, phil.

17. It was coined by Richard Dawkins
It was in the last chapter of the book The Selfish Gene. It was Dawkins description of how ideas are formed from small building blocks like our cells and chromosomes are made up of genes.
