2. She doesn't post here much anymore...
Edited on Mon Feb-21-05 11:59 PM by Longgrain
But her initials were F. and N.

her first message to me was something like...

"So just how does this personal message thing work?"

Ah...memories...

:-(

On edit it was Dec 8 2004

Her exact message was...

"does this pm thing really work?"

Now I'm just sad...

6. CatWoman
Within a week or two after I joined, in October 2001. I felt accepted when one of the big-name DUers acknowledged me. I told her I felt honored to get a PM from her, and she just acted like I was crazy to say so. LOL. Always unpretentious and outgoing... our Midori!

I call her my little sister (although she is older), because of our sibling-like relationship of advice and needling. :D I have to set her straight on a few matters. ;-)

10. My inbox only goes back to December 2003.
And I know damned well I received PMs earlier than that. As such, I really can't answer your question. Sorry....

13. The first I received wasn't for me!
Someone accidently sent me a PM that was meant for John Kleeb!
So I read it anyway and then sent it back to the original sender and I guess she sent it on to Kleeb.
That was (I think) in December of '03.

That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

14. Aside from Skinner, the first was WannaJumpMyScooter,
telling me he was retired CG too.

I only have about 15 of them. But that's ok, I've been using IM clients for about 8 years, and have only spoken to people maybe 20 times.

18. I'm not sure I want to answer this
Since she contacted me privately it feels wrong to talk about it publicly. Her name (not her screen name) is Elizabeth and we discussed sexuality, politics, religion, her abusive childhood, my abusive relationship.

And it was pretty damn nice to talk to her. She was there when I needed a friend. And she was a good one - funny, compassionate, ready to point out my faults in a non-hurtful way.

Khash.

I'm glad though it was a nice experience. Sometimes that kind of stuff can be cathartic to get out.

I defended her in a PM about Obama last spring. I have no earthly idea what the topic was, but that's the oldest PM I have.
