what is with some people
Edited on Sat Oct-11-03 12:58 AM by HEyHEY
Seriously, there are some guys I grew up with, so I'm not ditching them, don't even ask. But some folks are coming over, and he phones to ask me if this one guy can come. "Why" I ask..."Well you know..the ...gay guy"

How the fuck would this guy get it in to his head I would give a shit if a gay guy comes over to my house???? Seriously.

1. Some people would feel
that they had to sanitize their house with bleach if a gay person darkened the doorway.

2. Thats the thing
I mean..fuck really, this guy has known me 18 years (since age six) he's been out with me and some friend that happen to be gay. And he asks this??? Is the world so homophobe that we just assume everyone has a problem with it?

4. I don't get it...
I've had gay and lesbian acquaintances for most of my life. I have never understood homophobia. Granted, I'm from New Orleans, pushin' 40... married, I still never got it.

5. Maybe you could talk to them more
Do you share your world views with these guys? I do agree that it's a damn shame that people still feel they have to ask (although sadly sometimes they do), but if you've been friends that long, it seems like it should be OK to have discussion about these things.

6. that's f*cked up
but yeah, if you can you should problem tell your friends the same thing you are telling us. Expand his mind with the idea that he doesn't have to feel apologetic about having a gay friend.

7. Well sadly, some people do give a shit.
I might be inclined to come up with some smart ass comment like - does he pass gas, piss in the sink, blow chunks, or engage in any similar openly obnoxious behavior? If not I have no objections. His sexual orientation is the least of my concerns.

..."Well, I called my friend..you know..the gay guy??" and asked him if he minded if I invited...you know,.... the dumb homophobe guy"..
