Why is it that online dating services ...
... require you to join up and do a complete profile just to "browse" ?? I mean, shouldn't you be able to see what the site is like before having to complete a profile??

I spent 15 minutes today making up something witty (or not) and answering all those questions, only to find that there were exactly THREE men in my entire state (of illinois) on the site.

How annoying.

1. Well for one thing,
as a woman you're in high demand on dating sites. There's more men on those sites than women.

2. hmmmm.
well ... they'd get more members (including women), if .. they're a good site, and people can "browse" first ... then only sign up if you actually want to do more than browse.
